Digital twins did not start in investment management. They started in manufacturing, aerospace and healthcare, where a live, continuously updated model of a system allows decisions to be tested before they are made.
LP and allocator organisations are complex and historically 'under codified'. Investment theses, manager relationships and years of institutional memory sit with a small number of senior people and in spreadsheets, rather than in a single source of truth. When those people leave, the reasoning leaves with them.
A digital twin of an investment office models the institution directly. Its thesis, its manager history and its reasoning, made explicit.
The prerequisite is an AI brain: full institutional knowledge and context, continuously updated, so that a change in asset allocation, a higher cash position or a new fund commitment can be tested against how the institution actually decides.
That is where the work begins, and it is what we build at AuumAI.
